“Oo, those ones are nice,” said I, seeing some more of Kevin’s artwork.
“No, no, no,” said Kevin. “You don’t want to photograph those ones. They’re not real art.”
“And what on earth could you mean by that?”
“People know what real art is. These ones aren’t good enough.”
“Ok, it’s time for you to shhhh and give me the folder and let me photograph them,” said I.
And here they are, the ones he said weren’t “good enough.”
Yeh, he’s right. They’re a bit rubbish, aren’t they?

Beauty in the eye of the beholder, to me this art is beautiful. I understand the mind of the artist who views past art as less awesome than their latest art.

And I think you always judge your own work quite harshly because you’re trying to see what other people might like or not like about it.

I thought the fifth picture may be self portraits, but then thought the last pose was quite improbable!

Yep, that last one is a picture of Kevin on an average day at work….

If those aren’t real art then I’m a flippin’ loser.

He’s amazing, right?

Wow, I’d be really proud if I could draw like that. (I’d have to include a few scantily clad ladies and toilet humour though. I could never let my own low standards rise that high. š ) I especially like the the jet and the bridge one above it.

They’re good, aren’t they? He has a website now so it’s all very exciting! http://www.kjh-artificer.com

Yes, it’s an interesting mixture of styles, and some look like they were created hundreds of years ago. I’ll bet he could knock out a few good forgeries if he ever wanted to make a bit more on the side. š
