About LazyLauraMaisey

So here are a few basics about me;

I like running, writing, language learning, focaccia and tea. I once ran from Rome to London and during this journey, decided I wanted to move to Italy full-time for a while. I am currently living in a small village in the Ligurian mountains in Italy and loving it.

    • Yeh, I tried to stop but I’m always saying it so I’ve just embraced it now! I loved your fish and chips post because I’m having a very similar evening myself actually. Lifetime on the hips guilt-food and Britain’s Got Talent.

    • You know what? I’ve been meaning to buy your book for ages, whenever I see Twitter updates about it. To show support, I’m going to buy it on Kindle on my phone as I’m constantly reading on the go and forget to take books in my bag. This is a long shot but is it on Audible.com by any chance? I’ve just discovered it and I love it!

  3. Excellent; thanks for that πŸ™‚ Let me know what you think. Perhaps even a review on the website? I’ve never heard of Audible.com (so I suppose the answer to your question is ‘no’) but it sounds intriguing… I’ll investigate!

  9. Hey there. I looked for an email addy to send this just to you, but couldn’t find one. So, after reading, feel free to delete this comment. I simply saw a small grammatical error in a post and I send them when I really enjoy the post, but when the error holds me back a bit. It was the post on the butter story.
    “Him and I would discuss food every time he came in” – It’s “He and I” that’s all.
    I hope this doesn’t upset you. I felt the post was excellent, so a small error that sticks out to me is something I want to pass on.

  10. Referencing the comment by kindredspirit23: I’ve worked with lots and lots of writers and one thing I’ve discovered is that REAL writers, TRUE writers and those who progress and get better are those who understand that every correction is an opportunity to make their writing better! Those who bristle at correction never improve. So, BRAVO for your response LazyLauraMaisey (which, by the way, is one of my favorite blog names.) Martha

    • Thanks so much for the lovely comment. I find it really helpful when people spot a mistake and tell me because I write first thing in the morning so sometimes it’s 5am and my sleepy eyes don’t spot things! It’s never to late to learn, I guess πŸ™‚

      • Early morning is my best writing time also….quiet, clear mind, refreshed thoughts…..best time of the day, in fact.

      • Definitely. I love waking up early and doing my own thing for an hour before going to work. It’s like I’ve put my own stamp on the day, instead of just doing the things I am paid to do.

    You know, I found myself talking about you to my wife last night (she had asked what was so fascinating about other people’s posts). I told her about a girl who takes walks, often in mundane places, and describes the feel of the place so well that I feel I’ve been there myself. I especially liked what I called your ‘lido series’ – I had no idea lidos actually existed in London.

    You’re a great writer and your posts linger in the mind.

    • Thank you so much for this comment and the compliment. I’m glad you enjoyed my lido walks. I loved them, it’s like stepping back in time. I always expect to see a gentleman in a full length suit and bathing cap! I’ll do some more when the weather is warmer again.

    • O sorry I didn’t reply sooner. If you’re on my blog reading a post or something, in the top left hand corner, it should have a little button saying ‘follow’. Once clicked, you will be following me… I think. Has that helped?

      • Thanks…
